Pam Anderson Takes Up Poker
Buxom actress Pamela Anderson, a.k.a. Mrs Kid Rock, was one of the many celebrities who graced this year's World Series of Poker, not as a guest, but as a participant.
"A lot of my friends play poker, and I thought, 'What is this?' " the playboy centerfold said. "I wasn't much of a gambler, but my dad plays poker and my grandpop plays poker, so it's in my blood.
"My mom told me to do Playboy, my dad told me to do poker, so I'm just listening to my parents," she quipped.
The actress' site, Pamelapoker.com was established in late July, but she was not able to give the project her full attention because of her marriage plans to rocker Kid Rock. Now, Pamela says that she will be focusing more on her site.
"I'm settled now," she says. "I do have a lot going on, but I'm really going to get into poker."
Pamelapoker.com is not your dime a dozen poker site though, as it is part of the Doyle Brunson's Poker Network, a collection of sites that involve celebrities and other high profile pro poker players, counting in Brunson himself. According to Brunson, the blonde's site attracts anywhere between 1,500 and 3,000 players a day.
"Besides being a beautiful girl, Pamela has a dynamite personality and she has a great head on her shoulders," Brunson says. "Poker is huge, and it's just touched the surface in China and Europe, and Pamela is huge in Europe. People I can't reach, Pamela can reach."
"I'm learning from Doyle, so I won't be learning bad habits," Anderson says. "The site is lighthearted, it's sexy and it's fun."
